BOSTON

SUMMER 2000

My summer trip to Boston was one of those strange weekends that seems divided into sections. The people I was with served as a constant, but the events kept changing.

Friday night was spent hanging out in Cambridge with Carly.

Dan and Jamie were at the baseball game. Beers were had after the game.

Saturday morning's activity was an incredibly pleasant visit with Jon, Trish and Ruby (their very young daughter). I couldn't stop taking pictures of Ruby. Dan and Jamie couldn't eat enough vegetable booty.

Saturday's key afternoon event was the showdown between the Mets and the Red Sox at Fenway. Jamie kept score. Dan gave us details of the play by play (note the earpiece).
Carly, her friend and I enjoyed the sun of the bleachers as we watched Carl Everett get into a yelling match with the umpire.

On Saturday night we found ourselves having dinner and a few drinks in Cambridge. Dan took a bus to Manhattan as Carly, Jamie and I took a bus across town to Jamaica Plain.

The weekend's absolute highlight took place to the sounds of salsa in the perfectly remodeled, yet slightly dank Milky Way.

Candlepin bowling kept Jamie, Carly and I entertained for hours. We bowled until we were kicked out of the venue.

Jamie won all the games, save one.

After removal from the bowling alley, the evening involved a bus trip to a bar in some other part of the city. It was crowded. Then it started raining. I'm trying not to type "fun was had by all." But fun really was had by all.
On Sunday's bus trip to New York, the a/c stopped working. We waited by the side of the road for 30 minutes. Jamie has vowed that he will never again travel by bus.
