A Weekend With Moments

Dan & Gail on the walk to O'Connor's

The following photos are from June 2-4, 2000. P, H and Gail visited from Virginia. We all entertained ourselves in various ways - museums, plays and baseball games.

Saturday morning starts with a trip to the local bagel shop and then a long subway ride to the upper east side.

The Guggenheim just functions as a background photo opportunity. We visited Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum and the exhibition of "design culture now". The show had it's highs and lows. P was overwhelmed and distracted by the use of translucent plastic. I was confused by the video game.

Gail buys lemonade from a couple of young SoHo punks.

H also forks over a few quarters to these obviously underage street vendors.

And it turns out that P is going to have to make a return trip to New York. I somehow structured the weekend around her being unable to find sunglasses. A sunglasses finding visit is now being scheduled.

Sunday afternoon offers the chance to go exploring. Look! They're building apartments down the block!

After lunch in Park Slope

Gail took the photo on the right and did a great job. P and I are hiding in the shadows of a giant building in Brooklyn. Look! White shirts and khakis!
