another lovely year of kindergarten in brooklyn recently came to a close. these are some of the more memorable pop reviews from this spring: *all names have been changed "world cup fever", air miami sarah: when you hear this song, how do you feel? william: i feel like i might say "hey hey" and i was thinking about a robot. sarah: a robot? william: there is voices of a robot and they are saying things of a robot. sarah: you're right...he does sound like a robot. are you going to watch the world cup? william: i don't know. soccer is when you hit the ball with your foot but i don't know why you hit it with your foot.
"theme", all girl summer fun band sarah: what do you think of a band that is all girls? alvin: i don't know what it's like to be a girl. but i think it's not that good. sarah: why not? alvin: your mom puts pink nail polish on your foot and that smells nasty. sarah: do you have friends who are girls? alvin: i don't need no woman to take care of me.
"that summer feeling", jonathan richman sarah: are you happy that it's almost summer? lashiqa: yeah. sarah: what are you going to do this summer? lashiqa: uh...eat somethin', fireworks, go to the beach, chinese food, play and stuff. sarah: what do you think of this song? lashiqa: good. this song makes me want to jump in a big blue pool. sarah: do you have a summer feeling? lashiqa: no, i just have a feeling that i want some candy.
"something strange happens", allen clapp sarah: has anything strange ever happened to you? juan: well, one time i saw a avalanche in coney island. sarah: an avalanche? juan: yeah, a shadow of a hawk fell over us and then we ran in the ocean and there was the avalanche of big rocks. sarah: do you like this song? juan: barf. |
