happy the rain from friday afternoon has disappeared, phil starts the morning off with a fresh cup of coffee (and a t-shirt which plays with the notion of figure/ground).
for christie, the morning means adding a few items to the group shopping list. and matt? matt starts the day off with a cigarette. he is on vacation. a morning cigarette is allowed.
in dining room #2, it's puzzle time. kaci, phil and michelle begin sorting out the edge pieces.

or course, you're not really awake until you walk out into the pool area and realize that it is a beautiful day.

you also realize that it's time for more beer. mitch and jake check the fridge and begin preparing the important shopping list. jamie does his part by depleting the beer supply by one (that's one beer, not one p.m. oh no, first full day on vacation - the drinking starts long before noon (assuming one can get out of bed before noon)).
after a few hours, the restock arrives. jamie sorts out the liquor and mike begins stocking refrigerator #3..
back outside a small group gathers to discuss the options for the day. some head for the beach and take ridiculous self-portraits, realizing that their beards aren't nearly as long and thick and grizzly as they want them to be.
jason, heather and annalisa enjoy the tanning opportunity provided by the afternoon sun.
it's jacuzzi and pool time after an hour or two spent on the beach. jason offers his sign of approval on the water temperature.
jessica chats with friends. mitch lowers his sunglasses as if posing as an 80s teen film star and dave scratches the back of his head as he contemplates the existence of a magazine like lucky.
it's all smiles saturday afternoon even though the pool isn't as well heated as everyone wants it to be.

the poolside relaxation continues as jason splashes heather and cara catches up on her reading.

angie works on the evening's dessert. and outside doug pelts the upper balcony with fruit.
dave makes an appearance saturday afternoon and it's time for the well-made drinks to also make an appearance. eric, alex and dave toast to a fun weekend.
annalisa layers on the sauce and resists the temptation to bake in a layer of goldfish crackers.
it's pants and sweatshirts for michelle and angie as the temperatures dip slightly in the evening.
alex and mike prove they can do a better job posing for pictures than almost anyone. and then lionel poses for a picture, claiming to be the king of foosball (ed. note: that claim was probably never made and has most likely been inserted here as an effort to add "conflict" to the narrative.
