trio fading

i think everyone knows that i'm a huge fan of nbc/universal's TRIO network. i can't say they had stellar programming during the month of december, but for the most part there's usually four or five things worth watching each month. sadly, this past weekend direcTV and Trio called it quits with direcTV no longer distributing the sometimes quirky network. according to reports, this drops the subscriber base for Trio from 20 million to 8 million. ouch.

what's good on tv?

this past august i traded in the old cable box for the new digital video recorder version. i tried to find a website that suggested odd things worth recording. i had no luck.

all i want to know is:
what’s good on tv?
what should i watch on television?
is there something i should record?

this dvr doesn’t work exactly like a tivo. it won’t suggest things for me to record. i’m fine with that. once or twice a week i go through the upcoming listings presented by the on-screen guide and select a few shows to record. the shows i plan to record are listed here, with some editorial comment. please note that channel numbers listed are for time warner digital cable in brooklyn, ny.
