DoubleHeader Weekend
A rainy Saturday found the Terrors assembling at Floyd for the day's second and third matches.
Principle Terror wore his warm-up shirt:

Our first match went smoothly:

Our second match wasn't so hot. Rivals, If You Want My Bocce, started out missing a few shots, but rebounded in the middle of game one. Game two was a bit tougher for them. Game three was a rough one for the Terrors. It was up to me to make a final, almost impossible shot, to keep us in the game. I couldn't do it. I take the blame for this match (not the final shot, but due to some poor play earlier in the game). If we see this gang in the playoffs, they don't stand a chance.

I'll let Cap'n Terror chime in with the Hot Hand of the Day report.
Comments
i hate to think that they are in any way in our heads, but we might have to make up some IYWMB practice jerseys so half of us can wear them on a weeknight and we can practice dismantling them like we used to.

When was that again? I guess in my old age my memory is starting to go. I can't remember back that far.

Yeah, you're probably right that we don't stand a chance if we play you in the tournament. You're unbeatable in the tournament. Wait a minute, now that I think about it, I don't think you are. Last time there was a tournament I'm pretty sure you lost, right? Oh yeah, it was us who beat you! Soundly, if I recall correctly. 7-2, 7-4, something like that? There was one tournament where your team went undefeated. But then you kicked 3 players off the team. Oops.

Listen Jim, you didn't exactly finish the job in last year's tournament in the finals, so frankly I don't want to hear it.
You of all people should appreciate the strategy of laying low, lurking, waiting for the most opportune time to throw the switch.

So that's your plan...you guys are sneakier than I thought.

maybe mj should play a fourth game for you next time by the way.
rtb indeed.

ez,
i think you might be right on the mike front. as captain, i am a big believer in keeping my hottest players in the game if possible. just like your captain did with dani on saturday.
oh wait ...

also, if memory serves correctly, in the final 7-3 game of the match, it was jim and me who scored all 7 points. reason to believe on all fronts.
if you want my bocce forever!

Yeah, there's no need to go to the bother of making up IYWMB practice jerseys. That just seems too elaborate and likely ineffective. Try something simpler, like encouraging your cappy to not bench his players when they are clearly on fire. The D-Train was an offensive machine on Saturday - she could score at will. I tip my yarmulke to her.

The D-train totally got Mooneyed!
VIVE L'IF YOU WANT MY BOCCE!

for team who claims to be getting no respect (and whose captain "feels bad" when you beat us), you're certainly no slouches in the shit-talking department. if you think we're going to change our swaggering, Rod-crushing mindset, you're all sorely mistaken. we'll wave goodbye to you when you lose to Jude Law and co. in the playoffs.
as for second-guessing our Cap'n for taking Tasty Terror out for Game 3, doesn't that pretty much mean you're admitting that we beat ourselves by not having our best team out there? and that it was not your prowess but our mistakes that allowed you to win? chumps.

Not that I was involved in criticizing anyone's coaching decisions previously, but at this point I'll step up and say that saying taking Dani out was a mistake is not the same as saying we automatically would have lost if she'd been playing. So no, no one is admitting that you beat yourselves. Lineup decisions notwithstanding, I think we could have handled you in that third game regardless. Or maybe not...we'll never know.
The main point of all this post-match discussion is, after we handily beat you the first time, multiple members of your team said to our faces things along the lines of "Even though you beat us, we're better than you, so it won't happen again." The incredible arrogance displayed by those comments pissed us off, and therefore we feel justified in gloating about the fact that we have now beaten you twice. Maybe your team could learn a lesson from this and not be so sure of your supposed superiority, which gives other teams motivation to beat the crap out of you and enjoy doing so.

jamie, jamie, jamie
you crack me up.
if cap'n terror took out dani in an effort to have an excuse as to why you would eventually lose to us, then that is truly awesome.
your argument here is definitely a leap of logic.
and yes, i did say that i felt bad in beating you in a weird way at first and admitted that there was something wrong with me. just because i'm weird doesn't mean the rest of the team felt this way. and of course i was happy winning.
i feel like the only shit i have thrown has been shit thrown back at you guys that you threw first. in fact, i didn't even mention the whole dani thing until ezra was complaining about me leaving mike in for a third game.
losing to team argus would be a privilege and an honor.
in the past i have called your team arrogant and a bunch of mercenaries. for that i truly apologize.
but if we have now entered the realm of chumps, then i'm fully prepared as team captain to say that i love our new nickname.
if you want my bocce, chumps and champions of the last two meetings against the coffee flats terrors.

Sorry I didn't chime in on this sooner....
There is no doubt IYWMB has dominated the Terrors the last two matches and for that you have demonstrated your superiority over us. Enjoy it while you can, however, because next time the Terrors will come to play.
