too aggressive.

as team captain i should've known better. i tried to get fancy and missed. what's worse, is that i tried to get fancy with the wrong play. the cobra kai ball i tried to take out wasn't even the closest ball. after i missed my "showoff" play, cobra kai played one more side and scored enough points to win game three. my memories of our first loss were quickly drowned by baseball talk. anyone else care to chime in with a wrap-up?

Cobra Kai were on their game. They were all playing great, they had a cheering section, and they had a motivating factor you guys didn't: the chance to knock off the undefeateds. There wasn't much you could do about it.

Well said, Jim.

Seriously, though, great game last Saturday. I think this makes our 2 season rivalry 2-2, which is just how I like it!

Just wanted to send you a link to our blog, which is long past due.

Please feel free to talk shit, comment, or openly mock us on our blog, as we will not hesitate to do the same.

Can't wait for the rematch in the tournament.

The Kai was definitely on, we definitely were not. I was feeling great after game one, but fell apart in game two. They were just too damn good for us that day. But alas, I feel a rebound coming on.

i think the posts on the Cobra Kai website tell the story pretty well. they've definitely passed IYWMB as our #1 rival now (no offense guys).

on a personal note, i feel like i'm playing the best bocce of my career right now and if Marc hadn't derailed our game with his mindless play, i think we would have come back to win. Marc has a whole host of excuses (nicotine withdrawal, fantasy draft preoccupation), but with an undefeated record on the line, i have to say that our play was almost unconscionable. i hope everyone takes the next few weeks to really think about how they can elevate their games in time for the playoffs.

jamie,

the fact that we were ever even considered a rival to your mastery is more than enough for this humble appreciator of your team brilliance and humility.

Sweet Touch,
The only "mindless play" any member of Coffee Flats made against us on Saturday was showing up to Floyd in the first place. We were ready, we were deadly, were were Kai.

You can't stop us.

humility doesn't get you into the back of a limo.

I sense the beginning of the end for the Terrors. Infighting, self-doubt, nicotine withdrawal. This has the makings of a compelling documentary: The Decline and Fall of a Bocce Powerhouse.

oh, there's no self-doubt in these parts. we've got a few weeks off during which we plan to work on our outdoor long game. it can only make us a better team when we return to the court to face team odin for the last match of the season.

I gotta say, by the middle of second game, we really got under your skin. Like Jim said, we had the chance to knock out the top dogs, but really nothing else to lose--you'd already kicked us (and everyone else) pretty well earlier in the season. Kat was in the slot, we were all on our game, and Sensei fielded all the right players at the right time. But I think you got rattled, too. I've never seen you guys send two balls into the back wall in a single frame--at least not when the play was that far from the end.

The problem is that this will only encourage us to talk even more shit and work even more head games, as if that were even possible. We're totally taking the red balls next toss we win ;)

All kidding aside, that was some of the toughest bocce I've seen played this season.

All right, here's how it is.

We played as bad as is imaginable last week, and Cobra Kai beat us. I was awful. That will not happen again.

The week before that we didn't play particularly well and still dispatched two teams.

Like last year, we'll be hungry come the end of this season, and I'm pretty sure nobody's going to want to face us in the tournament.

If we play well, we'll win.

There's nothing wrong with a loss near the end of the pre-playoff season. It only fuels the fire even more.

Who gives a shit what excuses we've used or what bad plays we did. We all saw it go down, and it's over. Now there's nothing left to do but to kick some more ass on the goddamn bocce court and win what we all know belongs to us.

hey, drumboy, don't get too cocky there "mr. i wasn't even on the championship winning team but somehow i like to talk like i was"

up until this point, i only had problems with the doubletalk and cowardice of your team leaders but now everything has changed. you fit in well.

You guys are the 23312 best, thanks so much for the help.
