Yesterday, I joined some friends for a few bocce games deep in Brooklyn.

The courts at Dreier Offerman park now have fences along the siderails. I'm still not sure how I feel about this feature. Perhaps they help keep dogs out of the bocce courts?

He's writing every so often for the NYTimes baseball blog. I can't get enough of this guy. How cool is it that he spends part of his day planning out his snacks? But why isn't he telling us what snacks he's got planned for the day? That better be the focus of his next entry!

  I've seen a game in one of these ballparks (Memphis) and checked out two others from the outside (Louisville & Greensboro, NC). Looks like I've got some traveling to do in the future. I'm trying to think of the places I've been not on this list - Coney Island's park might be at the top of the list. The Riverbandits ballpark in the Quad Cities is there, too. Do the view (and the garlic fries I enjoyed in Ogden) help put that stadium on the list?

• atomic ranch: the midcentury magazine #21 spring 2009
  There's a bocce set on the cover of the most recent issue of Atomic Ranch. I also noticed a bocce a few months ago in some pictures in Dwell. Is bocce the new must-have home accessory for those who like modern living? I think we're one more photo spread away from an honest-to-goodness trend.
