RSS Feeds

Is it weird that I measure my "coolness" factor by how long I've been an rss subscriber to certain websites? Every so often I compare myself to other public users of bloglines. Earlier this week my rss feed to Gothamist stopped working. I just now checked out their website and, whoa, there's a new rss feed. Maybe it's not new to them, but it's new to me.

I'm sort of sad about this development because it means I'll be deleting the old rss info and abandoning my status as someone with a public bloglines subscription who has followed Gothamist via rss since December 5, 2003 (second oldest!).

I really believe in having a public directory of my rss subscriptions and sometimes I get a little value out of checking out what others follow, especially if they read the same things I do.

I now define "coolness" as the middle-aged person I am. Look! See what I was following years ago when I was sort of current with modern technology! Check it out, I haven't changed the way I've been doing things in almost five years!

Perhaps I'm in this slightly wistful mood because of the email Apes sent last night pointing out one of my first online endeavors (hosted at erols.com).

Where's the link to the erols endeavor? You have me intrigued!
