i'm not going blind

During the past week I've developed a tick in my right eye. Five to six times a day It starts flutterring uncontrollably for ten seconds.

I'm 90% certain this oddness is not related to the ReNu with MoistureLoc recall. I've only used one bottle of the stuff and I didn't like it. It was a sample given to me by the eye doctor when I got new contacts. The MoistureLoc stuff is too slippery and weird. I went back to using my regular ReNu Multiplus.

Is being 90% certain that you're not going to go blind good enough? I think so. I'm being paranoid, especially since this flutter isn't listed as one of the symptoms of fungal keratitis.

If I can't blame my contact lens solution, what can I blame for this flutter in my right eye? And I do feel it's more of a flutter than a tick. Because wild, non-medically influenced speculation is fun, here's a list of what may be going on with my eye:

- too much gum chewing causing weird strains to the muscles in my face
- the intensity of the sun's rays in the mornings is weakening my eye sockets
- mystical punishment for not wearing sunglasses when going out to clubs at night
- my body's way to telling me to start winking at attractive women
- stress reaction to having assembled a terrible fantasy baseball team

Feel free to chime in with thoughts of your own.

random clicking slowed

Earlier today I noticed the public subscriber lists on bloglines aren't available. "Subscriber" numbers aren't listed either. I liked this function of bloglines because it let me know how many people subscribed to feeds of my blogs (usually 1(me)-5), it gave me a slight ego boost when I could claim to be one of the first subscribers to a cool blog and it was also a great function that let me find "related" feeds.

It's that ability to find related feeds that I'll miss the most. Taking a look at the public subscriptions of other internet users was a very fun, informative sort of thing. Doing so was especially useful when those users were good about structure - putting tv related feeds in a tv folder, music related feeds in a music folder, etc.

So, is this bloglines functionality gone for good? Just a temporary burp, pending an upgrade? Only time will tell.

Here are my public bloglines subscriptions: bloglines.com/public/marcb

UPDATE (4/11/06): The numbers are there. No conspiracy afoot.

will it seem too practiced?

Tomorrow night (Wednesday - April 5th) is the the one year anniversary of CRINGE. Sarah, the host, has decided it should be a "best of" show and has invited me to read. I'm looking forward to it. I'll be reading one of the letters I've already read, but that shouldn't stop you from dropping by the bar. Please come to the bar (Freddy's) because when I get there and don't know anyone it makes me very nervous and shy. If you do come to the bar, get there on-time (8:30pm) or early, as the crowds for this thing keep growing!

Cringe listed in New York magazine. neat!
