i'm an uncle!
a few weeks ago my sister and her husband, james, had a baby. they named her kaylee renee. during the past few days i've been in virginia relaxing and getting to know my niece. my first reaction? she's a baby. she's a very tiny baby. a newborn, even. when i held her a few days ago she did try to kick me, and she's a strong kicker. that either means i'll get beaten up as an uncle or she'll turn into a good soccer player (these things are always a bit hazen during the first few months. after the first year, though, her role in life will be easy to determine).
