we still feel like winners
with kaci at the gillian welch show, jamie, jim and i couldn't form the complete group of THE NEUTICLES. the three boys with facial hair settled on the name "THE BAD NEWS BEARDS." we tied with longtime competitors (cheryl's team - choad patrol) for first. and the audience demanded blood! they wanted a tie-breaker question. our bearded trio guessed wrong, effectively placing ourselves out of the money.

i'm still basking in the afterglow. trivia is so much more fun when you win.
when announcing the tie for first, dr. fact offered us the chance to either split the money and walk away, or do a tie-breaker question. jeff and i (from choad patrol) and jim and marc all agreed to split the cash and walk. but another member of our team misunderstood his instructions, walked up and told dr. fact we wanted the tie-breaker! the audience was thrilled though, and i managed to NOT blow my $40 on celebratory booze, so i'm happy too.
but i'm sure if kaci had been there, we'd be looking at another cute photo-booth shot of the neuticles on marc's page today...

the final question was how many MILES is the tour de france. tricky, huh? it's 3600something. we guessed 3500, thanks to our genius member, anthony.

it was a job well done by the bearded ones! and no pouting this time either! my team (superman's dad) finished one point behind in a tie for third behind the two champions. so now, after two times, i'm tied in points with balgavy and the boys! next month, next month!
