secondhand stories
this morning i recorded "second hand stories" on pbs. check your local cable guide right now and find out when it's on. it's a lot of fun following the two creators around the country as they visit thrift stores, yard sales and auctions buying and examining odd memorabilia. oh, and joe's record paradise in maryland makes an appearance.
it's a great show! by reading the description one would assume it covers the same territory as “hey remember!” on HGTV or another of those silly shows on the upper reaches of the cable television tier. SECOND HAND STORIES transcends all of those. chris wilcha’s voice as narrator shines through clearly and the direction of the episode is fun and carefree. the show does a great job mixing nostalgia for items with the quirkiness of buyers and sellers.
second hand stories airs again at 10:30 monday night in new york on channel 13.
some unknown person tipped me off to this via a comment on my dvr blog. if you see anything worth recording (like this show), let me know!
