the o.c. - last night

i only watched the first half. i wasn't that into it and sleep seemed more important. i'll catch up on the second half sometime this weekend. i think this show is over. it's played out. i'm so not into it anymore. or, am i?

to me, it's over. i haven't watched this season at all. kaci has a bit but i don't think she watched last night. if she did, nothing happened that was worth commenting on.

Having skipped the second half, you missed the guest cameo by Natalie Portman, who plays the drug-addled older sister of that hot but sullen lawn-boy whose name I forget. She crashes a car into the new Peach Pit After Dark, but no one seems to care.

Maybe it's because I only saw about two episodes of the first season and have yet to get burned out by it (or perhaps it's having a SoCal-born-and-raised girlfriend who just about forces me to watch it), but I'm now hooked. Of course, I also was at one time hooked on "Boston Public," but that may have been because it was so, so smutty.

I like the snappy writing. I like the good-looking girls. I like the fact that most of the music doesn't make me want to retch. I like to watch the bands that perform mope their way to a nice payday.

I'm getting Jen the Season 1 DVDs for X-mas. They're totally for her benefit, not mine, I swear.

hmm. marc, you disappoint me.
true, last night's episode did not really get me excited. mostly b/c:
a) i really and truly hate the new science partner girl. what was up with her hair? ugh.
b) hello, i thought there was supposed to be a fight?
c) i was watching with two boys who do not share the OC fever. they were much more excited by most extreme elimination challenge. (as was i, i must admit.)

but i am FAR from ready to give up on our beloved OC. i can't wait for this year's chrismukkah, and i have faith that someone WILL get punched next week. woo hoo!

I'm with Cheryl. It wasn't that great, but you know, we'll see what happens. And Jamie, declaring things as "over" is for peopl who wear ascots.
