"i'm so glad you're rainman."
the neuticles did it again!

i just got home from another second monday at brooklyn's buttermilk. the bar was packed for dr. fact's night of fifty questions and with 36 correct answers, my team, the neuticles, came away with the top prize. jamie, kaci, jim and i focused on winning. the competition was steep, with last months winners, sparkle motion, coming in second. actually, they tied for second with a team called the easter bunnies (but we think the easter bunnies consisted of 12 or more people). cheryl's team had another good showing (after ducking out on the competition last month) and tied for third.
a few highlights included my properly answering the name of paris hilton's dog (tinkerbell) and jamie seemingly knowing the answers to a few of the math questions before they were even read. everyone contributed and it feels good to be back on top. we didn't win the free beer during the bonus round, but we'll let that one slide.
as per custom, we took a few photos in the photobooth.

(and the best quote of the night goes to kaci for saying to jamie "i'm so glad you're rainman.")
UPDATE: jamie's notes from quiz night
Posted by marc@balgavy.com at April 13, 2004 02:02 AMyou know, at first it was cut-throat competition between our two teams... but now i'm really becoming a fan of the neuticles. i think i'm rooting for you guys more than i'm rooting for my own team. which is retarded; it's not like a season of trivia, where there's a champion at the end... but maybe it should be that way. you're just kicking so much ass.
and i'm really disappointed in myself for not knowing the name of paris hilton's chihuahua.
Posted by: cheryl at April 13, 2004 10:48 AMyou would have been in big trouble if you blew the tinkerbell question, mr. balgavy.
Posted by: youthlarge at April 13, 2004 12:46 PMoh, i was in full panic mode when the tinkerbell question came up. it took me a good 90 seconds to find the answer. and all i could do was think that, yes, it's cheating to call sujan on her cell phone.
Posted by: marc at April 13, 2004 12:55 PMDude you NEED a tmobile sidekick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am also very proud to call the neaticals friends!!
GO TEAM
Posted by: Chris Larry at April 13, 2004 06:53 PMi propose that no one (sans Kaci) can shave his beard until we lose again. not that i was planning on shaving, i'm just saying is all.
Posted by: jamie at April 15, 2004 02:31 PMI am not planning to ever shave my beard. However, a couple days ago I did trim it in a more neat and trim fashion than it's accustomed to. It's part of my recent campaign to spiff myself up, which has resulted in several women lobbing compliments and expressions of suprise at me on the state of my appearance. That's nice and all, but what I'm looking for is a compliment from a man or two, dammit.
Posted by: Jim at April 16, 2004 10:41 PMI can't fucking believe cheryl is rooting for you guys and not her faithful Choad Patrol. I also can't fucking believe that your team is names "Neuticals" -- i was so impressed by your cool name "Dudicals"!!
