ah! bees!

honey is constantly being added to products that need no improvement: mustard, wheat bread, ham, butter, cough syrup. sometimes, i just want a plain ham and cheese sandwich, or some regular mustard to dip my nuggets into. honey is fine for tea, or even pancakes, but please keep it out of my lunch.

and did you know that pastrami and corned beef are virtually the same thing? hell, i didn't even know pastrami *was* beef until a few months ago. i just assumed it was pork, but as it turns out it's the nitrates that cause it to become pink.

wanna know something that's nothing like pastrami? souse loaf. go ask for it at your local deli.

what exactly is your problem against honey, paquette.

i'm a salt lover, so i hate it when the sweetness of honey starts getting in the way of my precious NaCl. if i want the perfect combination of sweet and salty, i'll eat a chocolate covered pretzel.

i hear chocolate covered potato chips are quite the delicacy, though i've never tried one myself.

Yes, Shmoo, chocolate-covered potato chips are indeed delicious. You don't seem them around too often though. I only know of one place that makes them and it's in Syracuse NY. They're good, but not so good that you'd want to travel to that hellhole to get them.

i saw something in a CVS the other month that looked like a chocolate-covered pringle, but it was just a chocolate wafer pressed to that shape. i think they're called "ummmms."

i can understand your sweet salty thing because really, who can resist a chocolate covered pretzel. Not me! don't the delis by you have an option of honey mustard, deli mustard, yellow mustard, etc...?

Good and Baked made chocolate covered potato chips for our Valentine's Day menu, but they don't travel well.

Hey Ashcroft, keep the honey out of my tea and in my wheat bread.

PS Clever Girl Confections makes excellent chocolate covered chips. Not sure how Good and Baked feels about that, though.

jake - the less said about that contentious product cross-pollination the better.

Clever Girl Confections' chocolate covered potato chips are the BEST thing in the entire world. Soon you'll be able to order online! :)

Jamie, you can ask for regular mustard, btw, you don;'t HAVE to accept the honey-mustard version, though I would eat dirt if it was covered in honey-mustard sauce...

i know Claire. but honey mustard should be the special order, not just plain old deli mustard. what's worse, though is getting un-asked-for mayo on your sandwich. for some reason, they always just assume you want mayo and you have to emphatically state that you want no part of that particular condiment and wave your hands furiously to get it across.
